Between 1946 and 1958, the United States of America conducted 67 known nuclear weapons tests in the Marshall Islands, on Bikini and Enewetak Atolls. Decades later, thousands of Marshallese survivors and their descendants now live in the United States and one such community has settled on the plains of Enid, Oklahoma. 67 BOMBS TO ENID is an intimate, character-driven documentary that weaves first-hand accounts of the detonations with the testimony of the generation born after — tracing displacement, generational trauma, and a community’s insistence on joy and cultural pride in the unlikeliest of American towns. It speaks to the need for durable solutions to the harms caused by the nuclear legacy, as well as the Marshallese peoples continued pursuit of nuclear justice.
RECOGNITION & IMPACT
Since winning Best Documentary at the 2025 deadCenter Film Festival, 67 BOMBS TO ENID has gone on to an international premiere at the Thessaloniki International Documentary Film Festival and now travels to the United Nations in Geneva, at the Palais des Nations, in the margins of the 63rd session of the Human Rights Council. The screening at Palais des Nations is in solemn commemoration of 80 years since the first nuclear weapons test in the Marshall Islands, on the occasion of the UN International Day for the Total Elimination of Nuclear Weapons.
